Kobalt Develops New Technology to Bring Pre Orders into The Streaming Age

 
Kobalt in conjunction with Laura Marling's label, More Alarming Records, announced today that alongside the release of her new record, Semper Femina, fans will be able to 'Pre Save' the record on Spotify. With this groundbreaking new concept, Kobalt is bringing the traditional pre-order experience to streaming services so that fans can 'Pre Save' the record to their Spotify library and have it automatically added to their collection and playlists when it is released. Kobalt once again positions itself as a pioneer of technology, data and the digital streaming revolution by optimizing creator opportunities and ensuring fans have the power to maximize their listening experience.
 
Through groundbreaking technology, Kobalt has significantly enhanced the anticipation of an album release for fans. Using advanced proprietary software, Kobalt created 'Pre Save' to enable fans that use streaming services to engage with an album from the moment it's announced, along with any singles that get released along the way.

Semper Femina, the new album by Laura Marling, is set to release March 10, 2017 on Laura's own label More Alarming Records via Kobalt Music Recordings. It was recorded in LA in late 2015, and produced alongside U.S. musician/producer, Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes, Jim James). Semper Femina is Laura's sixth studio album in a little over nine years. It is a record that similarly addresses questions of how society views sexuality and gender but without seeking to provide definitive answers. It retains an openness to express and portray her own 'voyage' of self-discovery, but also to develop and learn as artist, performer, and as an individual over the course of her career.
