Jalapeno Records sign exclusive digital distribution deal with IDOL

Jalapeno Records have signed a deal taking their exclusive digital distribution rights to French distribution company IDOL.

Founded in 2000 Jalapeno are best known for their consistent output of soul, funk and electronic music.

Artists on the label include Radio 2 play listed Smoove & Turrell, 1Xtra play listed ephemerals and EBBA (European Border Breaker Awards) winners Kraak & Smaak who will be releasing their fifth album with the label in June this year.

Run by former AIM board member Trevor McNamee – the label was founded in 2000 by Elliot Ireland and Alex Rizzo (the artists Skeewiff and Shaft) with McNamee taking up the role of MD in 2002 and becoming owner in 2011. Prior to Jalapeno – McNamee was Marketing Manager at Arista / BMG looking after their dance output in the early 2000’s and prior to that was Product Manager of Jive’s Pepper Records imprint – the label that broke Groove Armada internationally.
