Iceland’s Emilíana Torrini is to headline the second Ja Ja Ja Festival - London’s celebration of the best Nordic music, food and film.

This year the festival will be spread over two venues, with extended editions of the acclaimed Ja Ja Ja club night to take place at The Lexington on 13th & 14th November, before moving on to a special all-day event on Saturday 15th November in the beautiful environs of Queen Mary University’s historic Great Hall.

Ja Ja Ja Festival will showcase the best new music from Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway and Sweden alongside an innovative menu of mouth-watering cuisines, exclusive screenings and more.

In a celebrated career that has encompassed major European-wide hit singles (Jungle Drum), a Grammy-nominated co-write for Kylie Minogue’s Slow, and a showstopping performance on the soundtrack to Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers, Emilíana Torrini’s most recent studio album Tookah was released by Rough Trade in 2013. A string of positive reviews followed, with Tookahdescribed as “magical and mystical” by Clash Magazine, Q proclaimed it was“worth the wait” and MOJO loved how “warm and addictive” the record is.

Joining Emilíana in her headline Ja Ja Ja Festival performance at the Great Hall will be When Saints Go Machine, Jenny Wilson, Highasakite, Sin Cos Tan and Byrta.

Artists playing The Lexington include some of the brightest up-and-coming names in Nordic music, such as Asbjørn, Rytmeklubben, Blaue Blume,Sumie, Death Hawks and Low Roar.

An equally innovative food programme will be available to purchase at both venues, curated by the Finnish chef and restaurateur - and former member of legendary rock band HIM - Antto Melasniemi. Promising “culinary experiences that go beyond food and drink” and exciting collaborations with artists playing the festival, Antto has received international acclaim for his signature combination of seasonal simplicity with conceptual dining, launching a series of award winning restaurants and pop-ups, including Design & Dine at London Design Festivalthis week, Kuurna, Ateljé Finne, Hel Yes!, The Solar Kitchen and The Open Kitchen project.

Festival goers at the Great Hall will also be free to enjoy an exclusive programme of screenings from the Nordic Music Video Awards.

More exciting additions will be made in coming weeks.

Quite simply, the Ja Ja Ja Festival is the closest UK audiences can get to that famed Nordic cool without reaching for their passport.

Tickets for the Ja Ja Ja Festival go on general sale today exclusively from Billetto from 9am.
