CISAC welcomes the appointment of Laurent Contini as Head of mission for collective management and authors' rights in Africa



CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, welcomes the appointment by the French government and Quai d’Orsay of Mr. Laurent Contini as Head of mission for collective management and authors' rights in Africa.
 
Mr. Laurent Contini, Foreign Affairs Advisor, former Ambassador in New Zealand, Rwanda and Zimbabwe, former collaborator of Minister Bernard Kouchner at Quai d’Orsay, was appointed Head of mission on the French model of authors' rights and collective management in Africa, for the Directorate-General of Globalization, Development and Partnerships of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.  
 
At the announcement of this appointment, Mr. Gadi Oron, CISAC Director General, said: “We are delighted that the French government has appointed the Ambassador Laurent Contini as the representative of collective management and authors' rights in Africa. The promotion of an authors' rights and collective management model throughout the world is a mission of major importance for culture, cultural diversity and the development of cultural and creative industries all over the world.”
