BPI LAUNCHES PROGRAMME OF FREE TRAINING EVENTS FOR MEMBERS
23 January 2015 - Press releaseBPI is to host a series of free training courses for its 300+ members throughout 2015, announced the music trade body today.
Following on from a successful year of 2014 training events, more than 20 sessions are being lined up for labels and music companies, with five taking place between January and April, covering Music Industry Contracts, Digital Marketing and YouTube Training.
- Effective Music Industry Contracts - 29th January 2015, from 2pm-5pm
Hosted by BPI’s General Council, Kiaron Whitehead, this seminar is a must-attend event for independent label lawyers. The guest speakers will be commercial music lawyers Mark Ashelford and Tim Fowler (from Lee & Thompson Solicitors) and Luke English (from Eric Robinson Solicitors). Four key contractual areas will be covered: (1) contracts with artists (2) contracts with distributors (3) contracts with digital retailers and (4) synch licences.
- Digital Marketing Training – 18th February, 11th March & 9th April, from 10am – 5pm
Hosted by Music Ally, this workshop will cover all major areas of Digital Marketing and Online Presence. It will explore the optimisation of all major online platforms, how to use paid advertising on Adwords, Facebook and Twitter, Email Marketing, and the ins and outs of YouTube. Case studies will provide examples of how to make the most of both new tools and well-established platforms.
- YouTube Training – 30th April, from 2pm-5pm
YouTube is growing in importance for both discovery and exposure but also as an increasing income stream. This session will cover the most important aspects of YouTube, from setting up a profile to using advanced channel settings, video editing tools and more. It will also look at how to best monetise videos and as well as the impact of Multi-Channel Networks (MCNs) in this space. The course will be rounded off with a session on how to best set up adverts on the platform. Held by Music Ally this concise workshop will give attendees the knowledge to maximise their imprint and revenue on YouTube.
Looking ahead to the events, BPI Director of Independent Membership, Chris Tams, said:
