Artist and Manager Awards – Winners
25 November 2016 - Press releasePeter Rudge, Joan Armatrading, Jonathan Dickins and The 1975 were amongst the winners at the Artist and Manager Awards supported by Dice at the Troxy tonight.
Veteran manager Peter Rudge was lauded by many, many worldwide colleagues when he received the PPL sponsored Peter Grant Award . Imelda May and members of James (both managed by Peter) performed to close the evening.
Joan Armatrading was honoured with the Artists Artist award for her outstanding career after a fulsome tribute by Bob Harris .
Jonathan Dickins of September Management was named Manager of the Year for his masterminding of Adele’s career and the many other artists on his roster.
The 1975 crowned a great campaign by being named Artist of the Year .
An excited Zita McHugh collected the Writer/Producer Manager of the Year.
Two hotly contested categories saw Years and Years win the Breakthrough Artist Award whilst the equivalent Manager slot (sponsored by You Tube) was won by Tobe Onwuka manager of Stormzy.
Tim Parry of Big Life revealed that they had partnered with the MMF to launch the slightly tongue in cheek “Jazz Summers Future Genius Award” in memory of the Big Life boss and ex MMF Chairman which will educate a paid intern for 6 months next year split between the 2 organisations.
Harris and Trotter sponsored the Industry Champion Award in memory of their late lamented colleague Jason Boas which was given was given posthumously to David Enthoven.
