AIM is pleased to announce the return of Indie-Con, the 1-day conference covering all areas of independent label business. Supported by crowdmix, Indie-Con returns to London’s Glaziers Hall on Friday 29th January 2016. The event will take an in-depth look at all the key areas essential for running a successful independent music business, offering unrivalled networking and learning opportunities.

After an incredibly well-received sell out 2014 event which saw over 400 independent music professionals attend, Indie-Con 2016 will offer a unique programme of sessions aimed at helping independent artists and labels to grow their businesses and get their music heard. Indie-Con is the only conference in the UK to focus specifically on meeting the business needs of independent labels and self-releasing artists.

Indie-Con 2016 sessions will include:

  • What’s new in radio?
  • US performance visas and accessing the US market
  • How are artists making money in 2016?
  • How to be an artist-friendly record company
  • Running a great small label
  • Fan loyalty: creating, maintaining and rewarding superfans
  • A&R and artist development in 2016
  • Hey You! Why aren’t you listening to our records? What the music industry can learn from video games, movies and TV

There will also be a special keynote interview with Seymour Stein. 2016 marks 50 years since Stein founded one of the world's first independent labels, Sire Records. Stein has launched the careers of a vast and diverse catalogue of artists, including The Ramones, Madonna, The Smiths, Seal and KD Lang. Seymour is interviewed by Tim Dellow and Toby L, founders of 2015 Independent Label of the Year Transgressive Records.
