ADRIAN STRAIN COMMUNICATIONS ENGAGED BY GLOBAL CREATORS BODY CISAC

Adrian Strain Communications, formed this month by the former Communications Director of IFPI, has been engaged as external consultant by CISAC, the global body representing authors societies.

CISAC, based in Paris, groups together 230 societies representing songwriters and creators in 123 countries. These generate revenues of $11.7 billion globally, of which 90 per cent cover music, according to CISAC's annual collections report published in November.  CISAC, whose President is Jean Michel Jarre, also campaigns for the rights of creators around the world and sets best practice rules for collecting societies.

Operating between London and Paris, Strain will work with CISAC Director General Gadi Oron and provide communications strategy support across the organisation's work.

Adrian Strain said: "CISAC does fantastic work for its members, helping collect substantial revenues, promoting rights to policy makers, training collection bodies around the world and much more.  The organisation works in a fast changing and highly complex world, and I'm thrilled to have the chance to bring in my communications consultancy to work alongside Gadi and the CISAC team".

Adrian Strain stepped down as Communications Director at IFPI last month http://www.ifpi.org/news/Adrian-Strain-to-step-down-at-IFPI-to-form-communications-consultancy after 21 years working for the organisation globally in London and Brussels.
